Special Cargo Types

We understand that not all cargo fits inside a standard container.Heavy-weight, oversized and other special cargo can be particularly tricky and challenging for international transportation.

  • IN-GAUGE CARGO (IG)

    Special cargoes which are transported by using Flat Rack or Open Top containers, and are placed within the internal dimensions  of the containers.

  • OUT-OF-GAUGE CARGO (OOG)

    If the height, width or length of your cargo extends  beyond the capacity of a standard container , this type of cargo needs to be loaded and secured onto Platform, single Flat Rack or Open Top quipment.

  • BREAKBULK CARGO (BB)

    For extra-large cargo at the time of vessel on-boarding, the cargo will be stowed on a pre-prepared bed containing multiple Flat Racks, thus ensuring maximum lashing opportunities.

Flat Rack

Flat Rack has no side walls and are available either with fixed or collapsible end-walls, is especially suited to heavy loads or cargo that needs loading from the top or sides, such as pipes and machinery.

Platform （Collapsed Flat Rack）

Platform (Collapsed Flat Rack) is a container without sides, ends or a roof. It is used for odd-sized cargo which does not fit on or in any other type of container. Its sturdy structure enables the smooth transportation of extremely heavy cargo up to 60,000 kg.

Open Top

Open Top containers have an open top covered by a tarpaulin instead of a solid roof. This enables oversized cargo to be loaded from the top. Open top containers normally also have end doors, like closed containers, to give flexibility for loading and unloading.
